"Look at the colors!. Just lovely...make more!!" S.S.
In your worst German accent this is "Zee Hosta" Falls! I know, really sappy... Obviously, there are no blue leaves so the Hosta leaf used for the falls was Photoshopped from green to blue. An interesting process and the first time experimenting with “pushing” the colors. This process led me to create a separate series of Leaf Art images-the Fractured Series .
I used the little white Artemesia flowers in the background to make the foam at the base of the waterfall. Just kept repeating and then added white dots for the spray which breaks up the massiveness of the "water". Glad I got to use maple leaves in this one. Aged and rotting Hosta for the brown mountains and less aged ones for the yellow ones.
Also used: Silver backs of butterfly bush, burning bush, Lucifer, boxwood, artemesia, and two Polka Dot Plants.
As leaves are biodegradable and will fade and deteriorate quickly, original Art is scanned immediately after creation, preserving their beauty long after originals are gone. Enjoy!
