A Day Dawns was actually made several years ago. I have a handful of images I started and never finished and this was one. I love the colors and the relative simplicity of it. It also has that peaceful, quiet feeling before the world wakes. I especially love the fence posts for some reason!
This came about by simply playing in the studio with leaves I had on hand. There was no particular inspiration outside of that. It reminds me of a park scene somehow though. Yes? The tree top leaves are Maple, of course, and there is one White Pine far right. Aged Lily fronds were used for tree trunks and fence posts. Two Dusty Miller white trees are under the Maples. A White Artemesia tree is on the left. 3 dark green leaves on the right are Rhododendron cut in half. Round dome topped leaf in the center is Hosta. Silver/gray leaves that look a little like water (you decide!) are the back side of Butterfly Bush. Lucifer striped leaves are along the bottom.
The black bird was stolen from another image titled “The Robe and the Raven”! It finishes off the image quite nicely, me thinks... Water color background.
ENJOY!
